About Brittany

Brittany Bennett Weston is a consultant and facilitator who is passionate about economic justice and community wealth building. She is a former CDFI lender who brings a diverse set of experiences in education, food systems, entrepreneurship support, and the arts to her work. She launched BennettWeston Consulting, LLC in 2021 to be a thought partner for community economic development organizations and other nonprofit, public, and private entities in shifting their cultures and practices to realize their visions and deepen the impact of their work.

Brittany is an active board member of the North Carolina Rural Center and its community development financial institution subsidiary, Thread Capital. She was Board Chair at Village of Wisdom (2019 - 2023) and was Board Treasurer of the Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice (2016 - 2021). Brittany earned a B.S. in Anthropology & Human Biology from Emory University and a Master of Public Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill. When she’s not working, you can probably find her enjoying the local arts and food scene in Durham, NC with her husband and friends or on a walk with her baby girl.

BennettWeston Consulting is a thought partner for groups and organizations, particularly community and economic development projects and nonprofits. Our mission is to help clients get clear about the “why” and “how” of their work, create collective vision, and develop a clear, equitable culture and strategy for greater impact.

Services

  • We design and facilitate meetings and retreats for connection, productivity, and celebration allowing clients to be fully engaged and all voices—particularly those of marginalized people— included in moving strategy forward.

  • We walk clients through a process for getting clear about the why and how of their work through deep engagement that includes gathering input from client stakeholders to identify strategic intentions, creating a collective vision, strategies, and structure for greater, more equitable impact.

  • We support clients as they launch and implement new strategic projects and programs through project management, fundraising support, and partnership development.
